Become a 'Friend of the Soup Kitchen'

As a 'Friend of the Soup Kitchen' your support is vital to our work, in whatever form. Being a charity 100% made up of volunteers we cannot function without the loyalty, support, time, effort, enthusiasm, fundraising efforts and goodwill of our volunteers and supporters.

What you can do

Volunteer your time

  1. This can involve you preparing food and serving it to the homeless and disadvantaged, as part of a team (the minimum time commitment is one night/day per month for about 3 hours)

  2. You can also help us at the many fundraising events we do. These usually take the form of collecting cash donations from the public, helping to organise a fundraising event or taking part in one with lots of other volunteers.

  3. You may also help out at the soup kitchen during the day; e.g. by picking up food from our donors and delivering it to our kitchen, food preparation, cleaning or undertaking administrative and stock taking roles.

Whatever personal skills or life experiences you have we are almost certain to be able to utilise them as a volunteer in the soup kitchen.

We are always in need of new volunteers to help. If you are
   interested please contact:

Or why not download and print a Volunteer application form

Donations 'In-Kind'

We also accept 'donation in kind' from people and organisations for other items that we can use.

For example, fridges, freezers, air conditioning, cooking and catering utensils and equipment.

This is an example of how easy it is to give a gift to the soup kitchen. Read about Dave Johnson.

If you wish to give a donation in kind please contact
fundraising@peterboroughsoupkitchen.org or telephone

What do you get in return

When you become a 'Friend of the Soup Kitchen' we
send you a regular newsletter explaining the on-going
work of the charity, our fundraising events and our
  progress.

You will know that your support, in whatever shape, helps to feed the homeless and disadvantaged in Peterborough.

Know that you can make a difference.
